As the national flag carrier and an IATA member airline, Biman maintains internationally recognized certifications covering flight operations, maintenance, ground handling, and security — independently audited and renewed on a fixed schedule. Biman follows a zero-tolerance policy on safety across all operations — flight operations, aircraft engineering and maintenance, flight dispatch, cabin operations, cargo, aviation security, and ground handling. These standards are reviewed continuously and formally audited every two years by IATA-accredited third parties.

Yes. Biman is IOSA registered, ISAGO certified, and independently rated by third-party aviation safety organizations. The airline has had no fatal accidents in over 40 years of operation.
IOSA, or the IATA Operational Safety Audit, is an internationally recognized evaluation of an airline's operational safety and security management systems. It is a prerequisite for IATA membership and is renewed every two years through an independent third-party audit.
Biman's most recent IOSA renewal was completed in September 2024 following an audit conducted from 1–5 September 2024. The current registration is valid until 14 December 2026.
Biman's IOSA audits are conducted by IATA-accredited Audit Organizations. The most recent audit was conducted by Argos Pros. Biman also operates under ongoing regulatory oversight from the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh and within the international aviation safety framework of ICAO.
